A Fixed deposit is an investment account where money is deposited for a fixed period of time and the interest does not fluctuate.  A Fixed deposit offers interest rates higher than ordinary savings accounts and is ideal if you have cash which you do not need to use immediately. You choose how long you want to invest – from one month to one year.

• The interest rate is fixed for the full investment period.
• No transactions are allowed.
• Interest is normally paid at maturity. Should you need your interest in the interim you can arrange for it to be paid quarterly, half-yearly or annually in arrears.
